We’re very proud to announce that Devon Heaven has recently (it was actually a few month ago but we’ve only just decided to write about it) been awarded a 2017 Gold Taste of the West Award! We were entered in the Online Retailer category alongside other local food and drink retailers that mainly trade online.
About Taste of the West
Taste of the West are the largest independent regional food group in the UK supporting fantastic local food and drink producers / retailers from the region (that’s Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire). They run an annual awards scheme to ensure high standards are maintained awarding members with Gold, Silver and Highly Commended (formally Bronze) awards.
What were they judging?
For the online retailer category it mostly comes down to two things; the website and the product/delivery of it. For the website they’re evaluating things like the usability, attractiveness, speed, security of checkout and accuracy of the information of displayed. For the product part they ordered a hamper of their choice for a particular delivery date. The hamper they chose was our Gourmet Devon Food Hamper.
What the judge said about Devon Heaven?
The Taste of the West deemed the site to be attractive and very easy to navigate with a clear and easy checkout process. Our Gourmet Devon Food Hamper was judged to consist of some of the best food in Devon and offer excellent value for money. They were also particularly impressed with the packaging. The judge really loved our chocolate truffles and went on to order a cream tea hamper with extra truffles for his mum on Mothers Day.
