We’re just getting back into the swing of things here at Devon Heaven Hampers following a busy Christmas period which saw us flat out through December so thought it was time to update our blog and look ahead to 2017.
Christmas 2016 was a big success for us with many returning customer reordering at Christmas as well as lots of new customers choosing to buy our Devon food hampers.
Our cream and afternoon tea hampers were particularly popular, helped by a great reputation our cream tea hampers have earned. With Christmas falling on a Sunday in 2016 it also meant that we could send cream and scones Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday and Christmas day would still fall within the 5 days that they’re best consumed within. Christmas 2017 falling on a Monday also won’t be too bad in that respect.
Most of the food we stock is produced on a small scale without preservatives so best before dates often only last a few months past Christmas, hence balancing stock levels was one of the biggest challenges this year.
Luckily for us we didn’t have a white Christmas or any other weather issues in the run up to Christmas so both deliveries via Royal Mail and our courier all ran on time.
It was great to see a number of small and medium sized Devon based businesses sending our Devon food hampers to clients, as well as a number of non-local companies, including 26 hampers we sent to Denmark.
In 2017 we’ll soon be looking add more afternoon tea hampers and a number of larger hampers. We won’t be adding too many though as we don’t want to overwhelm users with a range that takes too long to look through, so aim to keep our product ranges to only the very best products!
